Talk: New York University Game Center

Thursday, we gave at talked hosted by the New York University Game Center titled , “Why Fun Matters”.

The talk summarized the main ideas in the book and then went on to explore related ideas, including how fun ties to change in culture and many questions about using the FTG model to inspire game design.

This got us thinking–how could FTG work as a design model? It’s not something we have spent a lot of time thinking about. But it’s an interesting idea. What does an aesthetic-driven design practice look like? And what kinds of outcomes would it produce?
